affordable housing

Daniel Pearl and Mark Poddubiuk share a preoccupation with the design of housing and its role in the evolution and daily rituals of urban living. Both consciously and unconsciously, the design of housing is the ideal reflection of the values and aspirations of a culture. It is this vision that they have attempted to apply to their work over the past ten years. Their work in housing grew out of their personal social and environmental concerns, leading to their participation in the founding of the non-profit organization Habitations Communautaires NDG and Habitations Sherbrooke Forest in 1994, followed by the development of Les Habitations St-Ambroise (Mention, OAQ 1996), and most recently, the Ecoresidence at Macdonald College (Prix d'excellence, OAQ 2000). Since 1992, the members of l'OEUF have been working on the redevelopment of Benny Farm, including the renovation of 312 existing apartments and the construction of 133 new homes.
