L’OEUF has been awarded Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence for two projects in 2012.
Located in the same neighbourhood as L’OEUF’s award-winning Benny Farm projects, the Centre Culturel de Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, designed by L’OEUF in consortium with Atelier Big City and Fichten Soiferman et Associés Architectes, was applauded by the jury: “Of several public buildings of this scale, we felt that this project correctly captured the essence of a neighbourhood community building.” and “The primary strength of this project lies in the richness of the interior spaces.” To see more about this project and the jury’s other comments, visit the Canadian Architect website or see the CCNDG project on the L’OEUF website.
The only house to win an award of excellence this year was L’OEUF’s House in Four Fields in La Conception, Quebec. One jury member states, “This was the strongest and most interesting of multiple house submissions this year.” While another remarks, “This project exemplifies an honesty in site stewardship matched by an honesty in building; it resists ‘design by composition’ but instead pursues ‘design by intent.’ ” To see more about this project and the jury’s other comments, visit the Canadian Architect website or see the House in Four Fields project on the L’OEUF website.
