Chantal Cornu

Architect, MOAQ

Chantal’s primary focus of interest lies in sustainable design and community development. She holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Waterloo and has also studied in Stuttgart, Germany and Rome, Italy. This compliments her years of experience on site and in architectural offices, giving her the ability to understand the building process and combine it with the most current technologies as well as conventional construction practices. Chantal has held various architectural positions in offices in New York, Toronto and Berlin. She is also a founding member of Toronto’s Chord Studio, specializing in housing and the use of reclaimed materials. The practical experience gained in conventional construction is diversified through work with ecological and straw bale builders in Ontario. Chantal has also taught several courses through University of Waterloo and facilitated lectures and workshops for the general public. She is currently a member of the Emerging Green Builders of the CaGBC (Canadian Green Building Council).
