Ronnie Araya

Intern architect

Ronnie Araya is a Chilean architect, educator, and designer. He studied architecture at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso, and post-professionally as a member of the “Open City Group” of architects in Ritoque Chile. As a practicing architect, he worked at the Municipality of Valparaiso, Chile, developing a wide range of projects from concept to realization, which addressed diverse social spaces, like plazas and community centers. He is a leading researcher in fabric formworks. In his many years as a Research Associate of the Centre for Architectural Structures and Technology (C.A.S.T.) he has invented numerous fabric formwork techniques and designs, and is actively engaged in fabric formwork research and construction projects internationally.
